The newly refurbished Sodeinde Hall is now ready for occupation with effect from the 2017/2018 Academic Session.
The process of allocation of bed spaces shall be through online application by interested returning students on a “first come, first served” basis.
The application form will be available on the University Website for completion from Monday, September 18 to Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
Interested students are advised to keep the date in mind and act accordingly.
The balloting and application for bedspace in Henry Carr and Erastus Akingbola Postgraduate Halls of Residence will begin today, Tuesday, 14th March, 2017 at 12.00 noon. Only Students registered for 2016/2017 Session can take part in the exercise.

I have been informed that the hostel balloting process for fresh undergraduate students continues today. If you are yet to get a bedspace in any of the hostels, don’t give up yet you can still get yours today.
All you need do now is to keep trying via the undergraduate login and hopefully your luck might just shine. If you try to ballot and you get a response like no more space, just ignore and keep trying.
Sorry for all the stress you guys went through today expecting the link to come up on your portal. Blame it all on Unilag and it’s management.
The news is Unilag has shifted the 2016/2017 hostel balloting for fresh students till 15th of december 2016 and all registered fresh students are eligible to ballot for hostel.
The date has been shifted again from what was earlier posted HERE. 2016/2017 Unilag Hostel balloting for freshers(Utme & direct entry) will now commence on 8th of December 2016.

Now this is authentic and not rumor. Unilag has announced the new date for hostel balloting for all 2016/2017 fresh undegraduate students(Utme & Direct Entry).

There are information going round that the balloting for Accomodation for 2016/2017 fresh students(utme & direct entry) might likely start this week as frm Monday 5th of December 2016. Although I have not confirmed this information but it’s good you take note of this & check out the screenshots of some of the messages below….
There will be hostel allocation for all fresh students(utme & direct entry) but no date has been announced yet as at the time of writing this post(3/12/2016).
It will be via balloting as usual since the spaces available can not go round. Everybody will be given equal chance to ballot for space. By everybody I mean both utme(merit & supplementary) & direct entry(merit & supplementary) fresh students.
As you all know to get an Accomodation in Unilag is not beans, you have to follow updates bumper to bumper in order not miss out on the online balloting excercise. Below is a statement issued out to all Unilag final year and returning students for 2016/2017 academic session.

The last hostel balloting excercise for all undergraduates of 2015/2016 academic session will hold tomorrow. According to the message broadcasted by DSA, the balloting excercise is for everyone but the girls will get Radiography hostel. Radiography hostel is at Yaba beside Unilag MBA school and opposite the presibyitarian church in Yaba very close to Unilag campus shuttle park. Radiography hostel is a female hostel. Biological children of staff &200-300L and 400L studnts in 5-yr degree programme should go online tomorrow Thursday 11th Of February 2016 again to ballot for accomodatn.Limitd spaces available. we are so sorry for any inconvenience
What you all have been waiting for, 2015/2016 Unilag hostel balloting for all returning students(200Level – 300L) and also 400Level if your course is a five years course comes up today by 10am at UnilagHallsDotCom.

I have received lot of questions concerning this hostel allocation ish and when it will start for postgraduate students for the 2016/2017 academic session.
Normally Unilag will send out text messages to alert everyone few days to balloting and that was exactly what they did last year.
The dean of students affairs(DSA) has announced that hostel balloting for Unilag final year students and physically challenged comes up on Friday 22nd of January 2016 at 10am.
The website to ballot for space is the usual website; UnilagHalls.com. Students who falls into this category are expected to go online by 10am on Friday 22/01/2016 to ballot for space.
Official date for hostel balloting for 2015/2016 Unilag postgraduate students isn’t out yet but in this post I will give you the guidelines and what to expect.

All returning students who wish to benefit in the online accommodation balloting MUST register for the 2015/2016 academic session on or before Thursday 14th Of January 2016.
We are all waiting for DSA to announce the date. According to the last statement released by DSA’s office, he said returning students & final year will ballot this month of January 2016.
This means that the time & date will be announced very soon. Are you ready? Fastest finger things….Lol!

I quite understand what you guys are going through, I have gone through them myself in the past being an akokaite myself. I can only advise you to be patient and keep trying.
It was this same process last year and also same kinda Challenge. Just wondering why a school like Unilag will not learn from past challenges and prefer to make students go through stress just to get an accommodation that’s not even free of charge. SMH for this kinda system.
