This explains the percentage of those that will be admitted based on merit, catchment and educationally less developed states(ELDS) in Nigeria into Unilag undergraduates Programme.
Merit admission listers are those that are admitted purely based on their performance irrespective of the states they are from. This will take 45% of the total admission space.
Those that will be admitted via catchment are those that are from the six catchment states attached to unilag. All Federal schools have their own catchement states. The cut off mark for this states are always lower compared to that of merit listers.
The six states are Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo & Osun. This will take 35% of the total admission space.
Educationally Less Developed State(ELDS) Admission
There are some states in Nigeria that are educationally less developed compared to other states. This states are given special consideration when it comes to admission into federal schools. The states are;
6. CROSS-RIVER 7. EBONYI
9. JIGAWA 10.KADUNA
12. KATSINA 13. KEBBI
16. NASARAWA 17. NIGER
18. PLATEAU 19. RIVERS
21. TARABA 22. YOBE
This will take the remaining 20% of the totals admission space.

Note: Unilag admits more science students than art students. The quota is 60% science students and 40% art students.
