How Various Universities Combines Utme, Olevel and Post Utme To Give Undergraduate Admission

Regardless of the specific calculation method used by your chosen university, your JAMB score will typically carry 50% weightage. Here is an example of how the average score for Medicine and Surgery is calculated using your JAMB score:

  • JAMB Score divided by 8, plus Post UTME divided by 2 (applicable for schools using Post UTME and JAMB).
  • JAMB Score divided by 8, plus Post UTME 30% and O’ level 20% (for schools considering JAMB, Post UTME, and O’ level).
  • JAMB Score divided by 8 + O’ level (constituting the remaining 50%).

As evident from the calculation, your JAMB score significantly contributes to your overall admission requirements. Therefore, a high JAMB score is crucial when applying for competitive courses like Medicine and Surgery.
